Atlanta-Fulton County Libraries
As a part of a system-wide capital improvement program, the Atlanta-Fulton County Library System has built 10 new libraries and is renovating 22 existing libraries. A design-build partnership between CHASM, McMillan Pazdan Smith Architects, and Hogan Construction has taken on 7 of those libraries to be renovated. CHASM managed 3 of the 7 including Roswell, Kirkwood, and West End.

Working with the Atlanta-Fulton County Library System and the community through outreach events, CHASM devised a plan to refresh these aging libraries while adding vital new services. These new services and spaces will help bring the libraries’ programs into a new age of technology, reshaping the libraries to meet the current and future needs of the community.

The Roswell Library received a complete face-lift, reorienting the building to face the street and encourage pedestrian access. As well as a full interior refresh, all libraries will benefit from the addition of new program spaces such as study and classroom space. All libraries are on track to receive LEED certification.
